About AWS Lightsail

Amazon Lightsail launched in November 2016 as AWS's take on simple, fixed-price VPS hosting, aimed at developers who found the full AWS console overwhelming. It runs on the same infrastructure AWS has operated since launching in 2006, itself a division of Amazon, the company Jeff Bezos founded in 1994. Lightsail isn't a separate business. It's a product line, so its backing is whatever Amazon's is: a public company with global infrastructure.
