About Hetzner

Hetzner was founded in Gunzenhausen, Germany in 1997 by Martin Hetzner as a small web hosting provider, and it has stayed privately held and bootstrapped ever since. It grew from renting servers to building its own data center parks in Germany and Finland, and has since added locations in the US and Singapore. The company operated under German AG status from 2000 to 2015 before converting to a GmbH.
