About lima-city
lima-city started in March 2003 as a hobby project by Phillipp Röll, who began offering free webspace on a server he was already running once it had capacity to spare. The business shifted from ad-funded free hosting toward domain sales in 2008, and Röll spent 2010-2011 rebuilding it from a hobby project into a professional host before folding it into the newly formed, owner-led TrafficPlex GmbH in 2012. A paid Premium tier followed in 2014, adding VPS and other commercial hosting alongside the original free webspace. TrafficPlex remains privately held and Röll-led from Bremen, Germany, running its paid infrastructure out of an ISO-27001-certified Telehouse datacenter in Frankfurt.
