About Scaleway

Scaleway started life as Online SAS, an internet service provider Xavier Niel founded in Paris in 1999, long before Niel became known for the Free telecom brand and Iliad. Its dedicated-server brand Dedibox launched in 2006, and the company's cloud arm went into preview in 2013 before taking the Scaleway name in 2015. It has stayed a majority owned subsidiary of the Iliad group throughout, and today runs its own data centers in the Paris region.
