About Vultr

Vultr was founded in 2014 by David Aninowsky, who had already been running hosting infrastructure through an earlier venture called Choopa. The company stayed bootstrapped for its first decade, funding growth out of revenue instead of outside investors. It took on its first outside capital in December 2024, a $333 million round led by LuminArx Capital Management with AMD Ventures participating, at a $3.5 billion valuation. Vultr now runs cloud compute, storage, and GPU services across more than 30 regions worldwide.
